Reflections of 2007

It's that time of year again, where people think back on the year as a whole.

Was it a good year? Was it bad? Have we learned anything? Gained some good old wisdom with each passing year?

The best of the year for us was the birth of two grandchildren. A girl and a boy.

The worst was Hubby's condition deteriorating. His oxygen needs increased dramatically after a hospitalization back in April.

But as the days march on, we are learning to "dance in the rain", rather than "waiting for the storm to pass". As time goes on, I am beginning to accept this illness and our situation. I don't feel the need to vent anymore (at least not today).

Wisdom is about accepting the things we can't change. And we can't change COPD. So we learn to live with it. Somehow we muddle through.

I look back on 2007 and give thanks that we have each other, our families and friends. We have a warm home and food on our table. And electricity!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR WENDY!! Been so busy , jeez what with packing & moving & getting organized now.~ Still had time to go & get my hair done today tho!(Gift certificates are great!)Hubby stayed in bed all day today except for getting up & having some lunch. Tomorrow I'll try again to get him in the tub.No rain yet & the snow is finally melting away. My son came by for a visit on his first day back to work. He's willing to help with the move & clean up etc. So that's a relief! Slowly it will all begin to take shape & we'll have a fresh start to the New Year...

If you don't like something in your life, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude about it. (anonymous)

Hi Joy,
I can't imagine changing houses at this stage. It's hard enough being a caregiver, but moving on top of that! Yikes!
I am glad you took some time to get your hair done.
I got a certificate for a massage (for my birthday in November) that I haven't used yet. Something to look forward to.
It's nice when your boys grow up and can help with the heavy work, like moving and cleaning.
Thanks for posting! Happy New Year to you too!
