My treasures are my plants. They are my passion whether indoor or outdoor.
And this little elf found his way into one of them.
I've had this elf Christmas tree ornament since I was a little girl. Each Christmas my 2 brothers and I hung our special elves on the tree. Mine was red. The other two were green and white.
This is the only ornament to survive childhood, adulthood and two marriages. I'd say he was magic!

Beautiful picture. I tried to take a picture of an ornament I received in 1965 when I was 4. The pciture didn't turn out very well. If I take a better picture later this week, I will post it on my blog. Hope your toes not not frozen up there. Keep warm.

Awww, the Christmas Elf is so special. I understand the sentiment. There is one ornament I have saved - my favorite since first grade.
About the plants? I'm not so lucky...esp. with Poinsettias.
How special that you have had an ornament for so long! I don't have any from my childhood, but I do have several my children made when they were young--a little tattered, but they go on the tree every year.
I'm glad you finally found someone to shovel your walk; sometimes it's a matter of just making the right connections.

Greetings and all the seasons best....I found you via Peppylady...I see you are from Quebec...you have just been experiencing all the ice storms....here out west we were hit hard with our first snowfall of the season over on Vancouver Island...we got about 2 1/2 feet...it's to stay cold this whole week....up to -15 that is very cold for us....
I love your plant...I have never been very good with plants but I continue to try.

That little elf is certainly a treasure.
I don't have any ornaments from my youth but I am hoping that my children will *treasure* their ornaments that I have kept for them.

What a dear little elf! Do you allow him to stay out all year or does he live in the Christmas Box for the other 11 months when Christmas is over?
You must cherish that ornament. I wish I had some that were ours when I was a little girl.
That little elf has an impressive heritage. I enjoyed your previous hibiscus post, too--I'm still amazed you have them in Canada. They're a flower I associate with south Florida, where they grow everywhere, and not even here in the north part of the state. It's pretty cool you guys have them, too.
