Brought home some potted daffodils yesterday. I like to buy them when they're still closed. I set them on the kitchen table and .....
In the morning they had partially opened! How did they do that? Do they open overnight?
I took them off the table and put them on the kitchen counter, out of direct sunlight.
Ooops - please excuse the mess on the counter.
And finally, here's a Grandma tidbit I thought I'd share with you:
"Enough chocolate!" I scolded grandson #2. "It's time to put it away." Grandson #2 (who was almost 8 years old), opened the refrigerator and promptly put the box of Lind* milk chocolate balls inside.
I was puzzled. "Ryan, why are you putting the chocolate in the fridge?"
By afternoon they were fully open! As much as I love sunlight, it doesn't do well for taking pics. Washes the colours out.
Ooops - please excuse the mess on the counter.
And finally, here's a Grandma tidbit I thought I'd share with you:
Someone had brought chocolate for the grandchildren. I was babysitting for the evening to allow Dad to visit Mom in the hospital (baby Owen's birth).
"Because it says "milk", and milk belongs in the refrigerator."

Well... surprised you didn't know that, Granny! He he.
Your counter is lovely. Must go & clean mine up!
Your flowers are lovely, and the statement by your grandsone is priceless. Smart boy!
Dear Wendy,
Your daffs are so bright and pretty!
I am listening to the little wren sing as I write...Spring is so near...
Darling Grandson!
Have a delicious St. Pat's Day and a marvelous first day of Spring!
I will see you when I get home.
Happy Spring,
Sherry
Children say the funniest things--they can be so literal. Your flowers are so springy and cheerful. You take great pictures!
Love those sweet daffodils - and grandson is so smart:)
Just love the way the blooms open up. Nice shots of the pretty daffodils. And hmm...why didn't 'we' think of that?! Made me smile--your grandson. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Wendy, I hope that mother and baby are doing fine... That little guy is smart talking about MILK in the chocolate... He must have his grandmother's 'smarts'.....
We had a nice trip to Arkansas--but had an awful ice storm while there. At least though, there was water in the waterfalls. Glad to be HOME though.
Hugs,
Betsy
Aren't daffodils absolutely lovely? I must buy myself some... to put with the pot of tulips that I got last week.
I'm flip flop on my chocolates. Some time I put them in the freezer so I can get a snappy and then they're the days I like them out in the sun so I can have gooey chocolate.
Coffee is on
Kids are just so smart these days:)
The daffodils are certainly cheery; it will be awhile before I see their blooms outside, but I can't wait!
Mess...what mess? LOL, Whenever I take photos indoors, I don't notice till I download the photo that there was a stack of newspaper or a dishtowel or something I hadn't intended in the photo, usually in an area I can't crop:)
Hi Maggie May -hahahaha. I should have known!
Hi Bev, they make us laugh!
Hi Sherry, yes spring is on it's way. Have a wonderful trip!
Thanks Jen. I love spring flowers. And grandkids - not in that order, however. LOL!
Hi Jeanmac - are your daffodils finished? Or just out now. They are so cheerful, aren't they?
Hi Kanak, of course, we should have known all the time. LOL
Hi Betsy, bet you didn't count on an ice storm! How terrible! I'm glad you're back home safe and sound.
Hi shammickite, looks like we're still doing pots inside the house. Our garden spring flowers won't show up outside for a while yet.
I'm with you peppylady - chocolate gooey and crisp, anyway at all is good!
Hi Rose, oh, it's hard. I try to take what I think will be a perfect (or just a nice one) pic and then notice all sorts of things. Well, since I don't have a sophisticated camera with a light sensor, often I can't take another pic later because it will be too late.
Thanks for stopping by. The daffodils really are pretty, aren't they?
I love how that middle photo shows snow through the window in the background and the last one shows those beautiful blooms against that spring green.
Dear Wendy.....lovely daffs.....I do like them in the house, the fragrance is delightful...
Children are so funny......
Hi Amy, I'm hoping that snow melts soon! Thanks.
Hi Cheryl, I like them in the house too. I do enjoy the childrens' comments. They take things so literally.
Stop by to tag you for a meme called family fued.
I keep mine in the freezer because it's the only way I can eat it.
I'm not a big chocolate fan and I find the freezer takes the edge off the sweetness!!
Chocolate and flowers in the same post...you can never go wrong with chocolate and flower posts.
How cute...milk in the chocolate.
Beautiful! I have been thinking about spring flowers lately. With the sun shining and birds singing, How can anyone not think about flowers?
