Backyard Fun

The more pictures I take, the harder it is to get them right. Does that make sense? No, probably not.
You'd think the more practice I get, the better...... Jasmine, look at Grandma...
No, not down at your water toy....up at the camera.

Smile, Nathan. Oops, just missed it.

Yes, that's the sun shining up there, but please show me your sweet smile, once more.....

I took about 20 pics that day. And these are the best. Oh well.

At least the day was warm and sunny and we spent the morning playing in the backyard.

I did not realize how difficult it is to photograph small children. The only pics I took of my own children were for special occasions. And probably my parents took those, as I was busy with cake and ice cream or unwrapping presents.

Enjoy the nice weather while it's here, everyone. Have a good weekend!

Your grand babies are precious, and your pictures are great! Jasmine is too busy cooking for you to look at the camera--and action shots are the best! Isn't it amazing how every second babies expressions change? I am just facinated by them--I could watch them for hours!

Hi Wendy.....all children are adorable, regardless of the pose....perfection does not exist in the mind of a child and perhaps they have it right.....do we strive to hard?

Your grandchildren are beautiful, their perfect skin and clear eyes will show in any photograph. I can see you in Jasmine. Has anyone else said that?

Have a beautiful weekend and hope that your fine weather lasts......

I find it's the ones you don't expect to be any good that end up being the best! Where kids are concerned, I'm grateful I have a digital camera, imagine all the bad shots and wasted money if they all had to be developed!!

Wendy, Jasmine and Baby Nathan are so adorable! Thank heavens for the world turning digital...! Lovely pictures, even if they did not look into the camera:)

Hi Betsy, thanks - what a sweet thing to say. Hope you have a nice weekend too.

Hi Jen, I'm with you. I could watch them for hours too. And being a grandma, I do have the time now.

Hi Celia, thank you.

Hi Cheryl, you are so right. Perfection does not exist in a child's world. Why should it in ours? That is so strange - the same day I was taking those pics, my daughter said that Jasmine looked like me. I've never thought so. Jasmine reminds me of my daughter when she was little. We'll see how she grows.

Hi Peppylady, sometimes I just need to post about joy and joy for me is children at play.
Let's have some chocolate to go with our coffee, shall we?

Hi Linda, thank you so much. Hubby is up and down on an hourly basis these days. But at least it's summer and we can sit out on the deck and enjoy the sunshine and nice breeze.

Oh my goodness, Amelia, I'm with you. I snap a lot of pics and am soooooo glad to have a digital camera!

Hi Kanak, you can say that again! But, there's always next time.
Hugs to all.

I think your pictures of your grandchildren are absolutely LOVELY! Children never do exactly what you want them to do, and even if they did, the pictures look too contrived and staged.... I love those pics that show them just as they are!

Wendy, your grandchildren are adorable! Sometimes I think the best pictures are when they're not posing for us. I agree I've taken many more photos of my grandkids than of my own children. Maybe it's because we realize just how quickly time passes.

Hi Wendy, it is not you it is the delay on the camera. Till I bought the slr I was never happy or I missed the shot. As it took too long for the camera to snap the photo.

Hi Shammickite, well thank you. You're right, of course, the posed ones usually do look contrived.

Hi Naturegirl, how on earth do you get a 1 year old to pose???? I take my hat off to you. When Jasmine was 1 year old, all she did was stare at that black thing grandma was holding over her face.

Hi Rose, it is because we've been there, done that, and realize that time is going by so quickly. And as grandparents we do have more time, and we have digital!

Hi Grammy, I would like to upgrade my camera some day. Hopefully not in the too distant future. And then we'll see what happens!

Hi Michelle, thank you.

Hi Florida Sue, well thanks. Will see ya soon.

Hi JeanMac, I can't get enough of my grandkids. It is a lovely subject! Thanks

They're great, Wendy! Beautiful childre... I know how difficult it is to photograph children. Out of 50 shots, I might get three I like! And, if you think photographing children is very difficult, try photographing two Boston Terriers. If you want a good photo of them together, take about 500 shots. You might get one good one because THEY DON'T LISTEN AND THEY DON'T CARE.

Didn't mean to ramble on...

Cute, cute, cute. I understand completely how hard it is to get good shots of kids.
