The Turkeys are Coming....

Wonder if these flowers taste good?
Something tasty in the driveway?
Oh, a fence... can I fly over it?

Maybe I'll just hide in the bushes for a while.

I did it! Flew up here on top of the world!

Good-bye...... Thanksgiving is coming.....I'm outta here!

I got a suprise one morning about a year ago.
Walked down my driveway and saw this wild turkey.
I ran inside the house to grab my camera and took these pics.
She was rather tame and didn't mind me taking her pic at all.
I sent some of these to the local newspaper and they printed the turkey on the fence pic. I was delighted!
Have a nice Canadian Thanksgiving weekend everyone!

Hi Sherry,
I'm glad to have met you too. I had fun following this turkey around.

Hi Grammy - nobody was more surprised than I was to go outside for my morning walk and find a turkey in my driveway!

Hi Ruth - me too! Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Oh, I love those photos. I don't think I've ever seen a turkey in the wild. That is so cool.

Happy Thanksgiving, Wendy! These are great pictures. There were a few wild turkeys roaming a local town last year; there was quite a controversery about what to do with them. In the end, I think they were caught and taken to some nature preserve. I hope this turkey found its way back home and didn't make it to anyone's table.

Hi Bev, that was the first time for me too. But apparently one of my neighbours told me she'd been feeding this turkey, so it must have felt at home in our neighbourhood.

Hi Cheryl, thanks for dropping in. She really is a cute turkey, isn't she?

Hi LK - yup, surprised me that day!

Hi Naturegirl, happy thanksgiving to you as well. Tks for dropping in.

Hi Rose, we have lots of woods around us, so I'm sure this turkey found it's way back. We also have deer and fox. I don't really think anyone would want to eat this wild turkey. There's plenty of butterballs in the grocery store!

We had a surprise this weekend...2 deer walking through our backyard!
We have been seeing deer around here lately, but in all the years we have lived here, this is the first time I have seen them in my yard. They left before I could get me camera...."sigh"

Hi Morning glories round the clock,
It is nice to live in an area where you can see some of the wildlife. I love it!

Hi Mary, isn't that just the way? You finally see deer in your yard and they're gone before you get your camera. Hopefully, next time it will work.

Hi Amy, thanks - yes it was good.

Hi Mary - yup the turkey got away.
