A flock of robins

They're a little hard to see.
Robins hiding in the tree.
Zoomed in for a closer look.
But all you can see is this lump.
Almost looks like a toad sitting up in the branches.
And I so wanted to capture the unmistakable red breast that this robin is showing to whomever is across the street. Hmmmm.
I was so excited to see my first flock of robins. It's rare to see robins this early.

I had just finished visiting Owen and his mommy in the hospital. Was on my way to the car when I looked over at the side of a building and saw some birds pecking in a bare patch of earth.

As soon as I approached, off they flew - right up into the branches of some nearby trees.

My first thought was "darn, I don't have my camera." But of course I did! I had just finished taking pics of baby Owen.
Next camera I buy will have to have a stronger zoom.

I'll bet you are happy to see the robins. If robins come, can spring be far behind?

I have had lots of photos of similar little vague lumps that happen to be birds of other wild creatures!
One day I will get a better camera.
It is so annoying.
However, your tree does look lovely!

That must've been so exciting! With birds, the same thing happens to me too. But the tree/sky views are gorgeous!

Spring is headed your way, just as summer will arrive here quicker than I desire.

Birds are such a tease Wendy.....they always fly away as soon as you get the camera out....

Hope mummy and Owen are both doing well......

Hi Betsy, I hope!

Hi Maggie May, I guess I'm not alone then. Birds are hard to photograph.Yeah, the sky did look nice and blue, didn't it?

Hi Kanak, it was exciting. And to think a flock of birds brought me such joy. I was really quite surprised.

Hi Annette - I'll gladly save some snow for you. LOL!

Hi Cheryl, oh you can say that again. Now I really appreciate those bird photos you and other post! Mother and baby doing well. Thank you.

How exciting! When I see robins I do believe spring is really coming. Ours usually come around the 12/13th of March.

Hi Ruth, oh yes - and then we'll look for the returning geese!

Oh! Baby Owen finally came! Congratulations!!! I hope he and his mom are doing very well.

Your robin pictures were great! I do know what you mean about wanting a better close-up lense. It looks like Spring is just around the corner, Wendy! You've almost made it through the winter! Yay!

I saw a flock of robins in our yard the other day, too! Woo hoo, spring must be coming soon!

Photographing birds is not easy; believe me, I've tried, too. I agree with you--the next camera I get is going to have a real zoom.

Hi Jen, thank you. I do hope spring comes soon!

Hi Marmee - thanks for stopping by. Birds are hard to photograph. But, with digital, it makes it easier when you can just delete the pics of empty bird feeders, or empty branches of a tree.

Hi Rose, I guess we all have to start somewhere. I am just using hubby's camera. It is a very basic one that he won in a contest. Now I know what I want for my next purchase.

Hi Weeping Sore, I will be glad to see spring arrive.

What a beautiful blue sky. Now why don't birds stay still when you want to take their photo ? :)
